WASHINGTON, DC — A military veteran, who is now the CEO of a nationwide gym, is offering free memberships to service members. Danny Farrar says he started Soldier Fit after being homeless and suicidal following his time in the military.

Soldier Fit boasts 17 locations throughout the country and provides free membership to service members and their families.

Class participants wear Soldierfit t-shirts and are referred to as “troops.” Membership rates run from $69 to $98 a month with members usually attending between two and four classes per week.

Farrar said on his website, “our community is unlike any other fitness program: welcoming, friendly, supportive, and fun. Reach a higher level of fitness and health within our community.”

The 40-year-old is now determined to raise two-million dollars to build a veteran services center in his hometown of Frederick, Maryland.
