MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA —Vice President Mike Pence told a cheering crowd of NASA workers and contractors yesterday, that the United States will return to the moon and stay there.

The promise came during a 30 minute-long speech delivered at NASA Ames Research Center in Mountain View.

"We will ensure that the next man, and the first woman, on the moon will be American astronauts," Pence told a cheering crowd of Ames employees. "Artemis is here!"

It was the second day of a two-day visit the Vice President made to California in support of President Trump's re-election bid.

According to the space agency’s website, “Artemis is NASA's program of crewed lunar exploration, which is working to pull off the next human lunar landing by 2024 and to establish a sustainable, long-term presence on and around the moon by 2028.”
