Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan Outlines A Plan To Re-Open The State

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Maryland Governor Larry Hogan announced his plan for a phased reopening the state this afternoon in a press conference. 

The state could see the reopening of certain types of businesses and low risk communities as early as next week, provided the number of cases continues to plateau, and citizens continue to practice social distancing.

The plan is based on a program of 4 building blocks. The Governor said it is the most detailed plan in the country. The building blocks are:

  1. Expanded Testing
  2. Increased Hospital Surge Capacity
  3. Ramping Up Supply of PPE
  4. Robust Contact Tracing Operation

Starting at 7am tomorrow, Golf, tennis, boating, fishing, and camping will be open. State beaches will be opened for walking for walking and exercise.

Schools will remain closed in the state through the remainder of the academic year.
