BREAKING: Frederick County Easing Some COVID-19 Restrictions

FREDERICK COUNTY, MD -- Fredrick County Executive Jan Gardner announced this afternoon in press conference that the county will not be opening tomorrow with the rest of the state, but will ease restrictions starting tomorrow.

Gardner announced the stay-at-home order will remain in place, but starting tomorrow at 5 PM the eased restrictions will include:

  • curbside pickup for all retailers can resume
  • manufacturing will be allowed to resume,
  • animal adoptions, car washes and pet groomers will be allowed to operate, but will be required to follow the guidelines issued by the governor.

Gardner also announced small retail businesses will be allowed to reopen, but business owners will be responsible for limiting capacity to 50 percent, workers will be required to wear masks, and stores are asked to minimizing the handling of cash.

Religious houses of worship will also be allowed to open at 50% capacity starting tomorrow at 5 PM.
