MINNEAPOLIS, MN -- Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar says charges are coming for the other three former Minneapolis police officers involved in the death of George Floyd. She also tweeted the charges against former officer Derek Chauvin will be strengthened.
Attorney General Keith Ellison is expected to announce the charges this afternoon.
The Minneapolis Star-Tribune is reporting Chauvin will face second-degree murder charges instead of third-degree. Also, former police officers Tou Thao, Alexander Kueng and Thomas Lane will be charged with aiding and abetting second-degree murder.
