Monday marks the 51st anniversary of the first moon landing

KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, FL -- Monday marks the 51st anniversary of the first moon landing. NASA astronauts Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins lifted off from Kennedy Space Center on July 16th, 1969 on a mission to the moon and ultimately into the history books.

They accomplished that feat four days later on July 20th as Collins orbited above, Armstrong and Aldrin landed Apollo 11's Eagle lunar module, becoming the first humans to step foot on the moon.
