Joshua O. Hill, AIA, LEED AP, NCARB is a Founding Principal of Hill & Hurtt Architects. Josh received a Bachelor of Science in Architecture, Master of Architecture, and Urban Design Certificate from the University of Maryland, College Park. Following graduation, Joshua spent 16 years at prestigious firms in the area designing award winning public schools, student housing, university buildings, new houses, and additions/renovations to historic homes. In 2016 Josh founded Hill & Hurtt Architects with Eric Hurtt with a goal of creating a new type of architecture firm – one that is both collaborative and creative, yet approachable and warm.
The firm’s work includes new construction, additions, restorations and renovations, and has garnered awards from Remodeling Magazine, the American Institute of Architects, and the Institute of Classical Art and Architecture. The firm has also been featured in Fine Homebuilding, The Hill Rag, New Old House, and Home & Design Magazine.
In addition to his practice Josh has remained a dedicated educator, serving as an adjunct faculty member at the University of Maryland’s School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation, and currently serves as Member at Large on the Equality Chamber of Commerce DC’s Board of Directors.
