Nonprofit Seeks To Close Gap on Childhood Inequity

Save The Children is calling to close the inequity gap our children are facing.

FAIRFIELD, CT -- A new report reveals that the most disadvantaged counties for children in America, are mostly communities of color.

Save the Children, a humanitarian organization, released its annual U.S. The Land of Inopportunity: Closing the Childhood Equity Gap for America’s Kids report this month and found when ranking communities for providing healthy and safe childhoods, Carroll, Calvert and Queen Anne’s Counties in Maryland and Loudoun, Fauquier and Falls Church City Counties in Virginia all ranked in the top 50, but Washington D.C. ranked among the lowest.
