House Begins Voting On Impeaching President Trump

President Trump

(Washington, DC) -- The vote is underway in the U.S. House to impeach President Trump for the second time in little more than a year. There is little doubt about the outcome, with all Democrats and at least six Republicans expected to vote to impeach the President for inciting violence against the country. The main drama will be how many Republicans break ranks and vote to impeach. It was only 13 months ago House Democrats voted to impeach Trump for his dealings with Ukraine. The Senate voted to acquit him on a mostly party-line vote.

The article they are voting on accuses the President of inciting his supporters to come to Washington and then inciting them to storm Congress while the certification of the Electoral College vote was underway. His supporters broke through police lines and took control of the Capitol building for hours. At least six deaths are tied to the violence. More than 70 people so far have been charged in the insurrection. Biden will take the oath to become the nation's 46th President a week from today.
